This morning we headed out into the field again. We went out to a lake to gather more samples since the samples from that lake experienced about a 50% mortality rate. The lake was just a few miles north from camp on Dalton Highway, and is located a short walking distance from the road. A much easier hike than our previous trek out. It only took us about an hour to get to the lake and sample so we went up the road slightly to Kuparuk River when we were done. We checked out the river for a bit and then headed back to eat our lunch next to Toolik lake. We walked on the rocks at the edge of the lake before heading back to the lab to process our lake samples.
